Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles with aloe vera extract as a biological agent for antibacterial detection using cyanobacteria obtained from the Yahuarcocha Lagoon

dc.descriptionThis study presents a novel method for synthesizing silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using aloe vera extract that reduces silver ions in AgNPs and 10k Molecular Weight (MW) PVP as a stabilizing agent. The aloe vera extract was characterized using Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), while the morphology and size of the AgNPs were characterized using Scanning electron Microscope (SEM) and Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis). The results showed spherical AgNPs with a size between 200 and 500 nm. Finally, antibacterial activity was tested in cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) cultured for two months using Z8 medium where it was detected the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC), which was 1.77 mg/mL AgNPs solution.es
dc.description.abstractEste estudio presenta un método novedoso para sintetizar nanopartículas de plata (AgNP) utilizando extracto de aloe vera que reduce los iones de plata en AgNP y PVP de 10k de peso molecular (MW) como agente estabilizador. El extracto de aloe vera se caracterizó mediante espectroscopia infrarroja transformada de Fourier (FTIR), mientras que la morfología y el tamaño de las AgNP se caracterizaron mediante microscopio electrónico de barrido (SEM) y espectroscopia ultravioleta-visible (UV-Vis). Los resultados mostraron AgNPs esféricas con un tamaño entre 200 y 500 nm. Finalmente, se probó la actividad antibacteriana en cianobacterias (algas verdeazuladas) cultivadas durante un mes en medio Z8 donde se detectó la concentración mínima inhibitoria (MIC), que fue de 1,77 mg/mL de solución de AgNPs.es
