Description: Currently, treating wounds has a high cost in the global health systems. This has led to the search for new treatment strategies that promote proper healing to meet this clinical need. This study comprises the elaboration of electrospun nanofibers with bioactive agents extracted from Baccharis Latifolia , Aerva Sanguinolenta , and Jungia Rugosa plants. The phytochemical analysis of these plants revealed the presence of several bioactive compounds, such as phenols, flavonoids, coumarins, and terpenoids, which were incorporated into a polymeric mixture of nopal mucilage and PVA. The resulting nano fibers were characterized by SEM, FTIR, and DSC techniques. The results showed that the nopal mucilage concentration affected the morphology and crystallinity of the nanofibers and that the electrospinning process produced uniform nanofibers with a higher percentage of crystallinity. Notably, nanofibers were generated at low mucilage concentrations, whereas higher concentrations yielded a combination of nanoparticles and fibers. On the other hand, antibacterial tests were carried out using the E. coli DH5 alpha strain. However, no antibacterial activity was observed for this strain.
